It is the most renowned among the red wines of the world. It favours the best vineyard locations and occupies the best parts within the vineyards, as it needs a lot of sun and warmth. On the other hand it is the least demanding among the vintage wine varieties as regards the soil. The berries of the Cabarnet sauvignon are tiny; this grape variety is excellent for the preparation of the best red wines. The wine has a thick, dense and ruby red colour. When fresh it has a characteristic aroma, only with time it develops a full bouquet that will enchant every connoisseur. Because of its high extracts and robustness it ages very well. The aroma reminds us of wild fruit (strawberries, black currents, bilberries etc.). It is a full-flavoured wine with accentuated tannins. It is an excellent accompaniment to fresh cheeses and salami, red meat and venison.
